British scientists from the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield found that an amount of <strong>fish oil<\/strong> equivalent to a daily meal of 140 grams of oily fish, such as mackerel, significantly eased symptoms, especially itching, within eight weeks. In another study, Vincent A. Ziboh, a dermatologist at the University of California, Davis, found that 60% of participants in a small group showed mild to moderate improvement \u2013 reduced redness and itching \u2013 after taking fish oil capsules for eight weeks. However, other studies have not shown noticeable improvement after taking fish oil, if any.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, since psoriasis is an <strong>inflammatory disorder<\/strong>, and <strong>fish oil<\/strong> has <strong>anti-inflammatory<\/strong> properties, it certainly makes sense to consume a higher amount of oily fish. Tiny amounts of the oil over time can start to have beneficial effects.
