18. 09. 2012Chocolate is not just a sweet treat enjoyed by people of all ages. It is healthy and medicinal because it reduces stress, helps prevent heart diseases, strengthens the immune system, acts as an antidepressant, and serves as an aphrodisiac.
Chocolate is the best-known antioxidant and one of the richest sources of magnesium. It helps prevent heart diseases, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Therefore, don’t avoid chocolate; just pay more attention to the type of chocolate you eat.
Here’s a recipe for healthy homemade chocolate:
- 1 cup of coconut oil
- 2/3 cup of agave sweetener
- 1/3 cup of cocoa powder or carob powder
- + vanilla bean or natural orange extract (optional)
- Warm the coconut butter (oil) in a double boiler or a bowl placed in warm water, then mix in the other ingredients and put the mixture in the fridge for 45 minutes (or in the freezer for 15 minutes) to harden.
Enjoy!
